Volunteering initiatives are coordinated by our Employee Engagement team, in partnership with local and global non-profit organizations, to maximize both social impact and employee experience.

Global Volunteering Highlights in 2024

Medical Missions with Operation Smile

In 2024, Mubadala employees volunteered with Operation Smile, participating in medical missions in Madagascar, Honduras, Egypt, and Morocco. Their efforts supported the delivery of life-changing surgeries for children and young adults, reaffirming our belief in healthcare access as a human right.

Environmental Action in the UAE with Emirates Nature

Our Leaders for Change program with Emirates Nature-WWF empowered employees to take part in environmental conservation activities. Highlights included:

• Nature at Night across two sessions in October and November.
• Planting for the Planet (Moringa tree planting, Ajman).
• Kayak for Conservation in April across two days.

These initiatives supported biodiversity and climate resilience in the UAE, while strengthening employee commitment to sustainability.

Global Green Efforts for World Environment Day

Employees across Beijing, Abu Dhabi, London, New York, and Moscow took part in sustainability-themed activities for World Environment Day, reflecting Mubadala's core values in action and reinforcing our culture of environmental stewardship.

• In Abu Dhabi, employees and family members joined a Kayaking at Night experience through the mangroves of Al Reem Island—collecting trash and learning about local ecosystems.
• In Beijing, colleagues joined the 40th Capital City Voluntary Tree Planting Event at ZhangJiaWan Park to enhance biodiversity.
• In London, teams organized a picnic-style lunch at Berkeley Square Gardens and engaged in regular carbon-footprint-reducing initiatives.
• In New York, colleagues restored the meadows of Randall’s Island by tending to the community gardens.
• In Moscow, teams collaborated with local schools on environmental clean-ups and awareness-building activities.

These events brought colleagues together around the world to honor Mubadala’s sustainability values through local action.

30 Days of Gratitude

This year during Ramadan, Mubadala employees embraced the spirit of generosity through the 30 Days of Gratitude campaign:

• Donated bags of food globally through “community food pantries” in partnership with:

  • Baker Street Mosque (London)
  • Arab American Family Support Center (New York)
  • HongYuanQiZhi Special Education School (Beijing)

Granting Wishes with Make-A-Wish Foundation

Since 2022, Mubadala employees have helped grant wishes through our partnership with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, bringing hope, strength, and joy to children and families facing critical illness.
