Masdar, the UAE’s clean energy champion, partnered with Greece’s TERNA Energy to develop one of Europe’s most ambitious renewable energy projects.

The collaboration will deliver Greece’s largest renewable energy initiativepioneering 3-gigawatts of clean energy capacity and supporting the European Union’s energy transition.

The project will include wind, solar, and pumped storage technologies, creating a fully integrated clean power system capable of supplying sustainable electricity to over one million households. The partnership will also support regional grid stability while reducing reliance on imported fossil fuels, aligning with Greece’s national energy plan and broader European Union targets.

For Mubadala, through Masdar, this investment reflects a long-term strategy of developing renewable energy infrastructure in key global markets. The project marks a significant entry into Europe’s utility-scale renewables sector and strengthens ties between the UAE and Greece in climate collaboration and industrial development.

Masdar’s track record and global platform in clean energy delivery will complement TERNA’s on-the-ground execution capabilities. The partnership represents a shared vision of energy security, sustainability, and economic development through decarbonization.

This investment reinforces Mubadala’s commitment to building climate-resilient infrastructure while advancing strategic partnerships that accelerate the global energy transition.
